Guests

We take very few guests. Here is the bar.

Two specialist operators, organic and paid search, is what makes this show worth listening to, so a guest has to add something neither of us can. We are specifically looking for guests that are actively running an ecommerce brand.

What gets a yes

  • You are actively running an ecommerce brand. Operator seat, not advisor seat.
  • You have scaled it, and can say specifically what worked rather than what you would recommend in general.
  • You can talk about actual numbers on air. Revenue, spend, ROAS, sessions, margin. Ranges are fine, vagueness is not.
  • You have something our listeners will not have heard from us. Learned doing it, not read somewhere.

What gets a no

  • Agencies and freelancers looking to talk about their services.
  • Thought leadership with no operating experience behind it.
  • Anyone who needs to see or approve the questions beforehand.
  • PR agencies booking a client into a slot.
  • Anyone whose main pitch is their own launch.

How it works if you are accepted

Episodes usually run around 30 minutes, though interviews tend to go a bit longer. Recorded on Riverside, video and audio.

We do not send questions in advance, because the unrehearsed answers are the useful ones. You will know the topic beforehand, and we can give you a rough idea of the sort of thing we will ask.

Every episode goes out on all the major podcast platforms and on YouTube. It also gets its own page here, with the full transcript and a link to your store.

We try to reply to everyone, but we get a lot of applications and do not always manage it. If you do not hear back, it is not a judgement on you. We both run businesses alongside the show.

Apply

Read the bar above first. The strongest applications name one thing that worked and the numbers behind it.

This is the field that decides it. An application with no numbers gets a no.
